Critical thinking is one of the most important skills of the 21st century. New and innovative ideas as well as the ability to solve problems are increasingly considered as an essential quality for a successful approach in every sphere of life. However, of course, critical thinkers are not made overnight because this is an ongoing process that should start in the early stages of childhood and be cultivated over the years without stopping.

In this regard, we have designed a training specifically for the development of critical thinking in children. This training offers them an opportunity to be involved in an environment where they face lessons, challenging activities, games and various interactive situations through which they will be taught how to see things from different angles, with a critical, analytical eye. and open-minded. The strong point of this training is considered to be learning by doing (learning by doing) where children will have the opportunity to reflect on each stage of training, which enables them to include more complex thinking skills. Critically reflecting on learning experiences and processes and make effective decisions while avoiding one-sided consideration of a case, questioning evidence that is inconsistent with their ideas, subjective rather than objective or logical reasoning, and not supporting statements with evidence will be the main objectives of this training.

Upon completion of the training students will be able to:

– approach different situations with an open mind and flexibility while avoiding bias.

– find and give logical arguments to support their ideas.

– demonstrate greater and independent involvement in all spheres of life.

– ask relevant questions based on curiosity, their observation and the interconnectedness of things.

– interact with others effectively.

The training is planned to be divided into two phases

The first phase consists of 5 modules: Analysis, Evaluation, Rationale, Problem Solving and Decision Making which will be transmitted through various adapted activities related to this age group.

The second phase aims to strengthen these skills and demonstrate the knowledge gained from the first phase through the final products from the various projects in which the participants will work.
