This training is about introducing students to table tennis as a fun game that is useful both socially and as a sport. Students will be given some basic knowledge about the game of table tennis, as well as will be introduced to the basic requisites of table tennis: such as rackets, balls, tables, nets. From the educational point of view,  students will be explained the basic attitude in table tennis, the basic movements with and without the ball, holding the racket as well as the forehand and backhand kicks. Students will also be taught the basic strikes, from a technical point of view, as well as the main offensive and defensive strikes. Some of the basic rules of table tennis will be briefly explained and demonstrated. At the end of the training, a tournament will be organized, where students will play, but will also play the role of a judge.

Upon completion of the training students will be able to:

– talk about the origin of the game of table tennis

– hold the table tennis racket straight

– distinguish table tennis from other racquet sports

– learn basic information about table tennis

– perform basic blows with forehand

– perform basic strikes with the backhand

– perform the service

– distinguish offensive strikes from defensive ones

– know some basic rules of the game of table tennis

– play and refer to a game of table tennis
